John Reed’s experience in the transportation industry began in 1983 when he joined a small software company and wrote one of the first integrated transportation packages. He attended Youngstown State University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BSAS degree. In 1993, he joined Aim as a programmer and tech specialist. At the time, he was the only IT employee in the company. Since then, he’s grown the team into two departments: networking & helpdesk and the development & programming. In recent years John’s team has evolved into writing smartphone apps, virtualizing services, and migrating many of Aim’s functions into the cloud.
In January of 2003, he was promoted to Vice President and then to his current role as Chief Information Officer. Under his leadership, Aim has won two CCJ Innovator awards and continues to push the technical envelope all in an effort to better serve our customers. Our data transparency and “One Version of the Truth” approach allows our customers to view their data directly in our system without any filtering.
In addition to John’s leadership of Aim’s IT department he is also involved in several other sectors of the company. John has much involvement in customer relations, working first hand on creating customized solutions for many of Aim’s accounts. Additionally, John has deep involvement in acquisitions, company operations and logistics.
